Midnight Madness 1

Right, so if you read my last post, you'll see that I'm really into the Haruhi Suzumiya series. Now, because of that, half the events in the world now make me think of that series or something connected to it. For instance, the public high school that I take a few classes at just had a student transfer in. My first though?
'I wonder how mysterious this transfer student is and is she a time traveler, alien or esper?'
Then, my family was watching Groundhog Day, (a movie where groundhog day keeps repeating over and over for the main character) and I immediately think of the "Endless Eight" arc of, you guessed it, Haruhi Suzumiya. Yes, I am officially sinking into the deepest depths of "Haruhi-ism" *shudder*

Oh, and before I forget, I posted my first attempt at using the voice synthisizer UTAU on my Youtube page, so check it out!

That's it, so I'm going to bed soon.

So, guess what? I got two new books! and it's not even Christmas yet! I got them after I learned some hard piano music in waaay too little time, so yay! Anyway, the books in question are the first and third books in the "Haruhi Suzumiya" series. They were first published in Japan and were a huge sensation. I got the hardcover versions with the original cover art, so I'm pretty excited! I thought I'd review them and compare them to the anime they spawned since I can't get any of my video games to do what I want, so here it goes.

So, the first book, "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" starts off with our narrator, a 10th grader who's nickname is Kyon, telling us about how he never believed in Santa Claus, but he actually did believe in cartoon heroes, villans and such until fairly recently. He then comences to tell the story of his first year in high school. Everything starts out normal, with the entrance cerimony and what not, but things take a decidedly strange turn when the class is introducing themselves. After Kyon gives his little speech-thing, the girl behind him stands up. She indroduces herself as Haruhi Suzumiya and tells everyone that she's not interested in normal humans; that she only wants to acosiate with the strange and supernatural. This throws everyone for a loop, but Kyon manages to become friends with Haruhi eventually. He ends up helping Haruhi form a school club called the SOS Brigade, or "the Saving the world by Overloading it with fun Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade" It turns out that Haurhi has some strange type of power that no one understands and that she doesn't know about, so lots of strange things happen around her and her brigade.

That's the gist of the book. It's a really good book, over all. I'll probably write the review for the second book and the anime comparison later, because right now, my head is killing me. I'll post that up when I can. Until then,

It's been awhile and "Zakuro's Anime Short Shots!"

Wow... I'm so bad at blogging... Well, whatever. Anyway, I've got a friend, whom we shall call Zakuro for the time being, who is really good at writing short anime reveiws. I asked her if I could put them on my blog and she said fine. So, I shall now start my "Zakuro's Anime Short Shots!" posts. I don't know when I'll be posting them, so just keep an eye out. These first three are put together, because they're from an email she sent me,(I had asked her if she'd watched any good anime recently), so future ones might be different. So here is the first of "Zakuro's Anime Short Shots!"

"I actually just watched a new anime recently! Its called Soul Eater,(yeah i know it sounds bad but the reason its called that is because the main characters name is Soul Eater aka. Soul, so yes, they do eat souls, but the souls look little marshmallow puffballs. I seriously want a plushy!) Anyway,(now that I made it sound really bad), its super funny!!!

Also, another anime that is super funny is Sgt Frog, they're both SUPER HILARIOUS!!!! Both the dub and sub of Soul Eater are good, but I prefer the dub and, if you don't like pop culture references, then your going to want to watch the subbed version of Sgt. Frog. If you like random hilarity about steroids, Miley Cyrus and gundams, though, you're going to want to watch the dub.

Oh yeah, if you haven't seen Death Note then DON'T; its freakin' horrible!!! i mean it wouldn't be as bad if it was the side character that was an idiot, but no, the main character is a psychotic moron with a god complex."

And that ends our first episode of, "Zakuro's Anime Short Shots!" If you like it, drop a comment and, if you don't, you can still drop a comment! And with that, Sakura is out. Peace!

Random Ramblings of a Teenage Writer.

So, you might wonder why a busy teenage girl would want to write a blog. The answer is simple enough. I'm aspiring (lol, love that word) to be an author and I think I can use all the practice I can get. If you are reading this, then be warned. This blog will most likely contain poor writing, rants on various things and shameless advertising of my other online things, (AKA my fan fiction and YouTube projects). If you have time after reading my odd posts, I'd like it if you check out both my FanFiction.net account and my YouTube account. (the links to those will be up shortly) and I love feedback on all my projects.

Now that I have that out of the way, we can continue to the more interesting things. Or, at least I find them more interesting. I am a 15-year old girl who lives in Wisconsin. I'm not putting anything else about my location cause it's not too safe. I'm not putting my name up either, but you can just call me Sakura if you need too. My family is pretty normal, two good parents and an annoying little brother. My interests include music, writing, reading manga, watching anime, reading normal books and tap dancing. If you plan on reading this regularly, know that those things will be featured a lot.

I'll bet you're wondering about what I'll be writing about. well, here's my best guess. I'll probably be ranting on how much I hate certain voice actors in animes, complaining on how my writing is going, blathering on about my music and putting up short review thingies for animes, mangas and books. I'll also put up things about what I'm writing currently, fan fiction or other, and about other random things.

I guess that's about it. I'll probably be posting in the next few days since that's when the english dub of Vampire Knight comes out and also I'll probably get my FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood DVDs around then. Until then, sayonara!
